Sunday Services

We meet at 3:45pm for 4:00pm at The Red Maids' School, Westbury-on-Trym.

What happens in the service?
In style, we hope that our services are relaxed without sacrificing weight and seriousness; contemporary yet resonating with the rich heritage of the past. There are readings and prayers and we try to make sure that the songs we sing have tunes that are easy to pick up and words that clearly express the truth of God. There is a talk that seeks to open up the relevance of a passage from the Bible and after the talk there is a brief chance to discuss issues raised and ask questions of the speaker. The service lasts until about 5:15pm.

Young people are important members of Emmanuel.  During the service we run a supervised creche with plenty of toys for 0-3yrs, lively groups for 4-11yrs and a youth meeting for the 12s and over.

Tea
Everyone is invited to stay on for tea from about 5:15pm. Our chief aim is to ensure that the children go home well fed, but there is always plenty for the adults too.
