Sunday Services

We meet at 3:45pm for 4:00pm at Badminton School, Westbury on Trym

What happens in the service?

In style, we hope that our services are relaxed without sacrificing weight and seriousness; contemporary yet resonating with the rich heritage of the past. There are readings and prayers and we try to make sure that the songs we sing have tunes that are easy to pick up and words that clearly express the truth of God. There is a talk that seeks to open up the relevance of a passage from the Bible and after the talk there is a brief chance to discuss issues raised and ask questions of the speaker.

The service lasts until about 5:15pm when there is tea.

Young People

Young people are important members of Emmanuel. During the service we have a supervised crèche with planned activities for 0-2yrs and lively groups for 3-11yrs. After tea there is a youth group for the 12s and over.

Please settle children in their groups by 3:55pm (people will direct you as you arrive) grab a cup of coffee and be ready to start in the main hall by 4:00pm. The children will then join us towards the end of our meeting in the main hall for a final hymn.

All our activities are run in accordance with the requirements of child protection legislation.

Tea

Everyone is invited to stay on for tea from about 5:15pm. Our chief aim is to ensure that the children go home well fed, but there is always plenty for the adults too.
